Starting from Parking Kratzegg, this route takes you through the beautiful alpine huts of Obere Ulfaser Alm before continuing along an exposed ridgeline with sweeping views over the Ulfas valley. You’ll descend via Ulfaseralm, closing the loop with a mix of forest and open pastures. A demanding hike for those seeking solitude and natural spectacle.

Ulfas ridgeline at its best

From the Kratzegg parking area, you’ll quickly climb into pine woods before reaching the alpine plateau of Obere Ulfaser Alm, a perfect place for a quick refreshment. The trail then winds along the mountain spine, offering a rugged and at times technical path. Keep your eyes open for grazing sheep and golden eagles. The descent into Ulfaseralm is gentle, passing flower-filled meadows. The final stretch returns via a forest path, completing an epic loop.
